From The Beginning

[ Our Story ]

"Born and raised in The Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana, fishing and hunting is what consumed most of my early childhood memories."

Born and raised in Northwest Montana, my journey began with a passion for the outdoors and a drive to build. I cut my teeth in the Bakken oil fields, starting as a shop hand and quickly rising to Shop Foreman at National Oilwell Varco by age 21. Working 120-hour weeks in one of the world’s most demanding environments, I mastered high-voltage power generation, heavy equipment repair, and precision welding.

After returning home to the Flathead Valley to start a family, I transitioned into the world of high-end diesel mechanics and custom fabrication. My reputation for "impossible" builds grew after I spent three years hand-engineering a one-of-a-kind Duramax-swapped Suburban. That project didn't just break records at car shows; it proved that with a pencil, paper, and enough grit, any vision can be brought to life.

In a small shop in Ferndale with just $1,000 in my pocket, I launched my own automotive business. Through sacrifice and a commitment to quality, we bootstrapped our way into a permanent, state-of-the-art facility. Today, that foundation of mechanical excellence serves as the backbone for everything we do. As the demand for mobile base camps and adventure rigs surged, we saw a gap in the market for builds that were as mechanically sound as they were beautiful. Next Level Offroad was born from that need.

We don't just bolt on accessories; we apply decades of heavy-duty mechanical experience to Mercedes Sprinters, Earth Roamers, Pickup Truck Platform Campers and custom off-road rigs. We build for the lifestyle because we live the lifestyle. Whether you're chasing the work/life balance or heading deep into the backcountry, we’re here to ensure your rig is ready for the journey. - Zach Michnal
